LPN Certification

So you want to be an LPN.  What do you need to do that LPN Certification?  LPN stands for Licensed Practical Nurse.  In most states becoming an LPN requires getting some specialized training.  Specialized training requires finding a school that has an LPN program.  The LPN programs can be done in as little as one year.  They do not have as many requirements as an RN program would have.  So, the first thing you need to do is find a school that has an LPN program that you feel is a good fit for you.

After you find the school with the right program, the next step in your quest to get your LPN Certification is to actually get into the program.  To do this you will need to get a few things.  You will need to get all your transcripts from any school you attended from high school on.  There may be some fees associated getting your transcripts, but they are generally less than $75.  You will also need to get some referrals.  The school that you are applying to wants to know that you are a good person who is going to work hard to get through the program.  You will want to get referrals from any employers you have had and teachers that have taught you.  Your mom and best friends are going to say good things about you.  A boss or teacher is going to be less biased, which is better for you.

So, you've gotten accepted at the school with the perfect program for you.  Now what?  Well, here the main goal is to finish the program.  That's an integral part of getting your LPN Certification.  Work hard, get good grades, keep out of trouble.  These are good things, and will reflect well on you when it comes time for you to find a job.

The last step to getting your LPN Certification is to take the test.  The test is called the NCLEX-PN.  You will want to study for this and get into a review program.  If you don't pass this test, you don't get your certification.  So, study for it.  Register for it.  There is a fee associated with registering for the exam.  But, it is necessary to get your certification, and that is your goal.  Pass the test, and you are the newest LPN, which means you have met your goal, and done what you wanted.  Congratulations.
